Who We Are
MortgageCalculatorTools is an independent project run by a small team of finance and data-focused contributors. We build free, no-sign-up calculators and plain-English guides that help people in the United States understand the numbers behind big decisions — buying a home, paying down debt, planning retirement, estimating taxes, and navigating U.S. immigration filing fees.
Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser. We do not ask you to register, and the figures you type into a calculator are never sent to or stored on our servers. Our goal is simple: give you a fast, accurate estimate and show you exactly how we got there.
What We Publish
- Calculators — mortgage, auto loan, refinance, retirement, compound interest, debt payoff, take-home pay, USCIS immigration fees, and more.
- Guides & explainers — researched articles on 2026 tax brackets, contribution limits, insurance costs by state, and immigration fee changes.
- State and scenario pages — localized breakdowns (e.g. insurance or take-home pay by state) so the numbers reflect your actual situation, not a national average.
How We Source Our Data
Accuracy matters most for the topics we cover, so we anchor our figures to primary, authoritative sources and cite them on the relevant pages. Depending on the topic, those sources include:
- U.S. government agencies — USCIS (G-1055 Fee Schedule), the IRS, the Social Security Administration, and state tax and DMV agencies.
- Industry and market data — published rate and premium data from established providers such as Freddie Mac, Experian, and major insurance-rate aggregators.
Fees, tax brackets, and contribution limits change. We date our pages with a "Last updated" note and review the most fee-sensitive tools (immigration and tax) whenever the underlying schedules change. If you spot a number that looks out of date, please tell us — we fix reported errors quickly.
Our Editorial Standards
- We link to the official source for any fee, rate, or limit we quote.
- We write in plain English and avoid hype, fearmongering, and clickbait.
- We separate facts from estimates and clearly label assumptions used in our calculators.
- We update or correct pages when laws, fees, or published figures change.
How We Fund This Site
Our tools are free to use. To cover hosting and development costs, this site may display advertising and may include affiliate links to relevant services. If you use an affiliate link, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Advertising and affiliate relationships never change the figures our calculators produce or the recommendations in our guides.
